Bisi Bele Bath
Bisi Bele Bath is a classic comfort food from Karnataka that is perfect for rainy days or a quick lunch. This one-pot dish combines rice, lentils, vegetables, and a unique spice mix, all cooked together to create a fragrant, tangy, and mildly spicy meal. The word "bisi" means hot, and "bele" refers to lentils, making this a hearty, nutritious dish.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rice
- ½ cup toor dal (pigeon peas)
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 potato, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp Bisi Bele Bath powder (available in stores or homemade)
- Tamarind extract
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 10 pcs Cashews (Garnishing)
Instructions:
- Cook rice and toor dal together until soft.
- In a pan, heat ghee and sauté onions and vegetables.
