Heirloom Radish Champion is a unique and flavorful root vegetable that has a long history of cultivation. Originally from Asia, radishes have been enjoyed for centuries by people all over the world. The "heirloom" designation means that this particular variety of radish has been passed down through generations, preserving its unique characteristics and flavor.

Heirloom Radish Champion is known for its crisp texture, and its mild, spicy taste. It has a bright red color and large roots, making it a perfect addition to salads, sandwiches, and as a garnish. It is a great source of Vitamin C, folate, and potassium. It also contains small amounts of other essential vitamins and minerals.

The Radish Champion plant is a hardy and versatile vegetable that can be grown in both spring and fall. They are relatively easy to grow, and can be planted in a variety of soils. The leaves of the radish are edible as well, and can be used as a green in salads.

The Champion Radish strain has deep scarlet, globe-shaped root is very firm and stands well without becoming pithy. Fresh, spicy-sweet flavor, Champion radishes boost juicing and is excellent for garnishing; adds spectacular cherry red color to salads, sandwiches, salsas, relishes, condiments, stir-fries, soups and also tacos and tortillas.

Champion Radish is a smooth, round radish with a bright red coloration. Champion Radish received its name based the record yields that it produces. At 25 days to maturity, it is extremely fast-growing and works great for short growing windows. Champion has a crisp, yet sweet flavor. Texture is best when harvested no larger than a golf ball. They produce strong tops, which allows for easy harvesting and removal from the soil. Champion also has excellent holding ability in the field during cool weather, which is great for situations where flexible harvest windows are required. 

Radishes grow best in cooler weather and should be planted in early spring or fall when temperatures have cooled. They prefer well-drained soil and will tend to split if soil conditions remain saturated for long periods of time. Radishes should be harvested at the ideal size for each variety. If allowed to get too large, they will become pithy and not as palatable. Once harvested, tops should be removed for optimal storage. Radishes with tops removed will store in the fridge for up to two weeks. 

Growing

Radishes are a hardy, very easy-to-grow root vegetable that can be planted multiple times in a growing season. Plus, radishes can be harvested as soon as three weeks after planting! Radish seeds can be planted in both the spring and the fall, but growing should be suspended in the height of summer, when temperatures are typically too hot. (Hot temperatures may cause radishes to bolt, making them essentially useless)
